We would like to welcome everyone to our home but being an older house it has difficulties for those with severe mobility impairement. Our aim is to offer as much assistance as we can so that our guests have an enjoyable stay with us. The following accessibility statement outlines what we can and cannot provide and will be informative for people with a variety of disabilities.

Pre-Arrival

• There is very limited public transport service to Alderton so use of own transport is advisable.
• The nearest station at Ashchurch, Tewkesbury is 5 miles away.
• We can advise on suitable taxi services.
• We can print any of our literature in larger type on request.
• Our contact details via phone, email or fax are listed on the contacts page.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• Entry to the house is via wide gates, which are always open and a gravel drive leads to the guests parking area.
• It is possible to stop outside the guest entrance to get in or out of a vehicle, but not to park as this in turn restricts access to the car park.
• We have unlimited parking available.
• Thecar park surface is covered with gravel but is mostly level.
• We do offer assistance with luggage.
• It is possible to walk to the village but there is no footpath and being in the countryside we do not have street lighting. Back to top of page

Main Entrance & Reception

• The guest entrance is inside an open porch with a tiled floor. 
• There is a bell.
• The door is 76cm wide.
• Our hall measures 2m x1.1m.
• The floor is wood block.

Public Areas - General (Internal)

• The stairs are covered in short pile carpet. 13 steps (18cm high, 22 cm deep, 86 cm wide.) They wind (turn) through 180 degrees. There is a hand rail for most of the stairs.
• Dog food and water bowls can be provided. Please advise on booking if you would like us to provide dog food.
• We do not have any ground floor bedrooms. Back to top of page

Public Areas - WC

• Bedrooms are ensuite. We do not have a ground floor toilet.

Restaurant, Dining Room & Lounge

• Breakfast is served in the guest dining room/sitting room.
• We can rearrange furniture on request.
• The table has an under space of 65cm. The chairs do not have arms.
• Menus can be provided in large print on request.
• We do not play background music anywhere in the B&B.
• Lighting can be adjusted by individual wall switches and dimmers.
• Floor is wood block.
• We aim to cater for all dietary requirements. Please advise us on booking so that we provide suitable food items.

Laundry

• Laundry is not available and the nearest is in Tewkesbury. Details can be given on request.   Back to top of page

Bedrooms

• 3 bedrooms all on first floor.
• 1 small double. Limited free space around bed.
• 1 twin . Plenty of usable space in room.
• 1 double with extra single bed.  Some useable space around beds.
• All have television /dvds with remote control and teletext.
• Plug in kettles and hair driers provided.
• Short pile carpets.
Blankets and extra pillows available on request.

Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]

• Small double room has a compact ensuite with bath with shower over (hand rail on edges) basin and toilet. Sloping ceiling means limited head room for taller people. Bi-fold door to bedroom.
• Twin has an ensuite with standard shower cubicle with corner entry, toilet and basin. 
• Double with extra bed has an ensuite with standard size shower with front entry, toilet and vanity unit. Bi-fold door to bedroom.

Grounds and Gardens

• we have 2 acres of surrounding land.
• Guests can use the garden.

Shop

•The nearest shop is in Alderton village and is only 2 minutes by car. It is also a post office with a ramp access.

Additional Information

• Mobile phone reception is not very good though some networks work better than others.
• Assistance dogs welcome.
• Our fire alarms ring and flash. Please advise us if you require more assistance in event of fire so we can ensure that you are evacuated safely.
• There is no smoking permitted anywhere in house.
• There is a small fridge on the landing which can be used to store medication/food.
• We can store larger items in our main fridge or freezer. Not available 24 hours. Back to top of page
